Application for Merit Scholarships
Students interested in being considered for the Ingram, Cornelius Vanderbilt, and/or Chancellor's Scholarship Program must first apply for admission by submitting the Common Application or the Universal College Application to Vanderbilt. Within two business days of submitting your application for admission to Vanderbilt, you should receive an email from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions explaining how to create your online MyAppVU account. Under the Scholarship Application tab in MyAppVU, you will be able to select the signature program(s) to which you wish to apply. Through your MyAppVU portal, you will upload your responses for the scholarship applications as a PDF document and submit online. Students interested in being considered for the Additional Merit Scholarships (Carell Family, Curb Leadership, and Fred Russell-Grantland Rice) should submit the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship application to be considered.
Applications for the Ingram Scholarship Program must be submitted by December 1, 2015 for prospective freshmen students and March 1, 2016 for currently enrolled first and second year students. All other scholarship applications must be submitted by December 15, 2015.
To submit Vanderbilt Merit Scholarship Application(s):
- Upload your Scholarship Application(s) via your MyAppVU account in PDF format.
- If you are applying for the Chancellor's Scholarship, download and submit the Chancellor's Scholarship Letter of Reference PDF. The recommendation letter and cover page may be submitted via email, fax or mail to address below.
- For Ingram Scholarship Program Letters of Reference: please arrange for two references to provide letters of recommendation in support of your application for the Ingram Scholarship Program. You may select anyone from your community who you believe can best address your strength of personal character and your commitment to volunteer service.
Register as an applicant at: http://www.vanderbilt.edu/ingram/apply/ref-letters.php. You will then be asked to supply the names and e-mail addresses of your two references. Should you seek a reference from someone without e-mail access, please have him or her send their letter of reference to the address below. If an Ingram recommendation letter is submitted by a registered recommender prior to the submission of your Ingram Scholarship application in MyAppVU, the recommendation letter status will update in MyAppVU 3-5 business days after you submit your Ingram Scholarship application via your MyAppVU account.
