Farrar Hood paintings October 1–November 1 Farrar Hood explores personal investigations and contemplations of physical and non-physical realities. Physical life in structured patterns of conflict, and the subsequent potential for growth and flourishing, followed by the unavoidable closing cycles of death pull the viewer into Hood’s paintings. “I have always tried to convey the materiality and physicality of the subjects that I represent through shifting balances of color and light, while placing particular importance on textural content,” says Hood. Pattern and design exhibited through nature serves as an initial inspiration in these imagined and considered scenarios of transition, upheaval, and final solace.
