Kell Black is a professor of art at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. He has exhib- ited widely garnering many awards and honors and has published the book, Paper New York. As an eminent paper engineer, Sarratt Gal- lery is thrilled to be exhibiting a new work by Black, Paper Hands. The exhibit will feature 100 cut forms of human hand gestures running the circumference of the gallery in a linear line.

Black describes his work in the spirit of the following quotation: “Simplicity is the glory of expression.” Walt Whitman
