About SARL

The Spatial Analysis Research Laboratory (SARL) is an advanced Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) facility intended for faculty, research staff, and advanced graduate students who are experienced GIS/RS users, with the purpose of providing high-powered workstations and mass-storage systems for analyzing large datasets and executing computationally-intensive geospatial procedures.  The hardware and software capabilities of the lab also facilitate collaboration and post-production capabilities for graphical and statistical presentations.

Location

SARL is located in Garland Hall, Room 10.

Administration

The lab is directed by Prof. Steve Wernke (Anthropology).  Administration of the lab is managed by an ad hoc committee in the Department of Anthropology.

Support and Funding

SARL is funded by a Vanderbilt University Discovery Infrastructure Grant, and is supported by the College of Arts and Sciences.
