Major Programs:

Vanderbilt University is a fertile climate for the clarification of values, the development of a sense of social responsibility, and the examination of personal faith. The office of Religious Life and Affiliated Ministries offers many programs to students to help them understand their own faith and the faith of others. The Office also provides leadership for Project Dialogue, a University-wide forum of speakers and events dealing with issues of moral and political concern, as well as the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Series and the Holocaust Lecture Series.

Project Dialogue

Gore Vidal was the campus speaker for September 11 as we discussed Project Dialogue's 2007/08 theme, "Why We Hate."

Holocaust Lecture Series

Vanderbilt University hosts the longest-running, university-based lecture series on the Holocaust. For more on this year's theme of "Cultural Genocide," see the HLS website: Holocaust Lecture Series

MLK Lecture Series

In honoring Dr. King, Vanderbilt University affirms its own commitment to the goals of peace and racial justice to which Dr. King dedicated his life.

Martin Luther King Jr. Series

Members of the Vanderbilt University and Nashville communities gathered for a candlelight vigil honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. in Benton Chapel. See more photos of the event.

Sojourner's Quest

Sojourner's Quest asks prominent individuals to discuss their faith journey. Dr. Huston Smith spoke on "The Re-Enchantment of Our Lives."
