University Ecumenical Advent Service

In anticipation of one of the most sacred times of year for Christians, The Office of the University Chaplain and Religious Life came together with the various Christian ministries of Vanderbilt to host the University Ecumenical Advent Service in Benton Chapel on Tuesday, December 1st. With Affiliated Chaplains from our Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Episcopal, and Evangelical ministries all taking part in prayer, scripture reading, and reflection, over 125 students, staff and faculty came out to celebrate the beginning of the Advent season.

In a special time of fellowship and joy, religious and non-religious students alike joined in Benton Chapel for song, prayer and community. As the academic semester began to wind to a close at VU, everyone enjoyed a time to pause, reflect, and come together, putting the worries and stress of finals to the side, even if only for only a few hours. As the holiday break draws near, students were happy to get the opportunity to celebrate together before they depart campus for their homes.
