Samhain Night
While many will soon be celebrating the secular festivities of Halloween by dressing up in costumes and eating candy on the evening of Saturday, October 31. Samhain, pronounced “Sow-when,” is considered the highest holy festival for those who follow some of the various Pagan/Earth-Centered religious traditions of the modern day. During this time Wiccans, Druids, and Pagans gather in their respected community to mark the moving of the seasonal Wheel of the Year and to remember their Ancestors who have passed from this world into the next. Please join us on Thursday, October 29 at 6:30 pm in the Chaplain’s Office to learn more about the religious holiday of Samhain and to partake in a simple ceremony of storytelling and the pouring of libation in honor of our Beloved Dead. Free food will be provided as fellowship is a central part to any and all Pagan gatherings.
