Posted by on Friday, December 7, 2012 in News.

The students of seven different Christian student groups joined the Office of Religious Life in celebrating the Advent season in Benton Chapel with carols, scripture readings, reflection and a candle light service. Over 125 gathered together in Benton Chapel for an evening of fellowship, song and celebration of the Christmas Season.

Students gathered with staff, faculty and the community to celebrate the Advent Season in Benton Chapel. Welcomed by University Chaplain, Reverend Mark Forrester, students from campus Christian groups such as Wesley/Canterbury Fellowship, Presbyterian Student Fellowship, University Catholic, Latter Day Student Association, Baptist Collegiate Ministry, Navigators, and Reformed University Fellowship worked together to all provide parts in the service. Students and Affiliated Chaplains took turns in scripture readings, reflections and timeless Christmas Carols that ranged in style from classical organ to more modern guitar style.

Concluding with a candle-lighting during the singing of Silent Night, the service ended with a candle-lit recession back out to the campus.
