Despite an ice storm that closed down the nation’s capital, a congressional reception hosted by Vanderbilt at the U.S. Capitol building on Feb. 13 was well attended. Participants included Sens. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., and Bob Corker, R-Tenn.; and Congressmen Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.; Steve Cohen, D-Tenn.; Jim Cooper, D-Tenn.; Lincoln Davis, D-Tenn.; and Zach Wamp, R-Tenn. Also in attendance were representatives of the Vanderbilt faculty and staff, numerous congressional staff members and several top officials from the executive branch.
