Aug. 21, 1980.
After 27 years of publication, the Vanderbilt Register,
the bi-weekly paper of record for Vanderbilt University's more than 20,000 faculty and staff, was retired in Sept. 2007. In its place, a three-pronged internal communications program was implemented, in order to provide more timely information and meet employees' information needs in a more personalized way.

's former editorial team

, which includes breaking news, classified ads, employee benefit information, discounts, news releases, original video and audio programming and podcasts. This site is managed by Missy Pankake
in the Vanderbilt News Service
Third is a twice-weekly e-mail, the MyVU Preview. it alerts all individuals with a vanderbilt.edu e-mail address of important information they need to do their jobs each day.
