Join Vanderbilt’s celebrated chefs, registered dietitians, and expert guest for healthy cooking demonstrations along with tasty samples and recipes.

Vanderbilt Dining’s Executive Chef Bill Claypool officially launched the second year of Vandy Cooks on Friday, January 23.  The weather outside was cold and wet but the presentation inside was warm and provided two delicious recipes for desserts. Chef Claypool altered higher calorie and fat content to provide two healthy dessert options.  Get the recipes here: Mini Peach Crisps and Reduced Sugar Fruit Tartlets.

Friday February 27, 12 – 1 PM Vandy Cooks with Executive Chef George Moran

Join us as Executive Chef George Moran prepares heart healthy dishes in celebration of National Heart Month. The Vandy Cooks demonstrations are offered monthly in the Vanderbilt Recreation and wellness Center’s Demonstration Kitchen to celebrate healthy eating at Vanderbilt.

In March three Vandy Cooks presentations are scheduled in celebration of National Nutrition Month.

Friday March 6, 12 -1 PM Vandy Cooks with Registered Dietitian Sarah Kraynak

Join Sarah Kraynak, registered dietitian with Second Harvest as she prepares budget friendly, heart healthy, simple and delicious recipes. The Vandy Cooks demonstrations are offered monthly in the Vanderbilt Recreation and wellness Center’s Demonstration Kitchen to celebrate healthy eating at Vanderbilt.

Wednesday March 11, 12 -1 PM Vandy Cooks with Registered Dietitian Sarah-Jane Bedwell

Sarah-Jane Bedwell is a national speaker and media personality. Sarah-Jane has educated and entertained hundreds of different corporate and community groups as well as professional associations. Her goal is always to inspire her audiences to make healthy lifestyle changes through interactive, practical, and entertaining talks, cooking demonstrations, and media segments. Sarah-Jane completed her dietetic internship, with an emphasis on Medical Nutrition Therapy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is the author of the book Schedule Me Skinny.
