Friday, February 12, 12 -1 PM Vandy Cooks with Executive Chef Moran—Heart Healthy Desserts
February is American Heart Month. Join Executive Chef Moran as he cooks ‘heart healthy desserts’, utilizing products for a lower in fat diet. Sample dishes created by Chef Moran and take home recipes.
Chef Moran has over 20 years of culinary experience and has been an Executive Chef for 19 years. Growing up in the Northeast, Chef Moran was influenced by the Irish and Italian cuisines that surrounded him. Chef Moran is as passionate about serving people as he is about serving high quality foods. Chef Moran is a winner of the “Heroes of Everyday Life” award for his work in fighting hunger in his community and has spent time over the last 3 summers doing missionary work in Southeast Asia. He currently lives in Tennessee with his wife and three children and is the Executive Chef at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

The Vandy Cooks demonstrations are offered monthly in the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center’s Demonstration Kitchen to celebrate healthy eating at Vanderbilt.
