Friday, August 22nd 12 – 1 PM Cole Crop Vegetable Creations

Please join us for Cole Crop Vegetable Creations with Marilyn C. Holmes, MS, RD, LDN as she creates unique and taste pleasing creations using kohlrabi, cauliflower and more in the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center Demonstration Kitchen. Registration is not required. Receive recipes; taste and enjoy samples of foods prepared.

Friday, September 19th 12 – 1 PM – Game Day Favorites with Heart

Join Stacey Kendrick, Vanderbilt Heart Heath Educator and score points with your fellow football lovers by learning how to put a heart-healthy spin on popular tailgate recipes Whether you’re in the Commodores’ stadium parking lot or on your couch in front of the TV, one of the best parts of watching the big game is the food!

Friday, October 17th, 11:30 – 12:30 PM – Clean Eating with Executive Chef Carroll Lucius

Join Chef Lucius Carroll in the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center Demonstration Kitchen as he creates “Clean Eating” recipes – using seasonal, natural and unprocessed foods.  Receive samples and recipes.

Nutrition minute held once a week at the VRWC will offer quick tips on ways to maintain healthy eating habits.

Feel free to stop in for a minute or stay the whole time. Nutrition Minute is held in the lobby of the VRWC.

Wednesday, Sept 3: 4-5pm “Tips on Successful Weight Gain”

Gaining weigh for some is as challenging as losing weight for others. Yet, much less information is available on ways to add weight as opposed to losing weight. Stop by and learn tips for health weight gain while tasting some quick and simple dishes that support adding weight.

Thursday, Sept 11: 8-9am “‘In the Know’ about Juicing”

Stop by this interactive presentation to learn more about the currently popular trend to ‘juice’ foods. Taste samples for alternate quick and healthy drinks.

Tuesday, Sept 16: 12:30-1:30pm “Smoothie 101″

We all love and enjoy smoothies, but are often confused about ingredients to include in homemade or bought smoothies. Learn more about ingredient pros and cons as you taste samples and receive recipes for smoothies made with simple and readily available ingredients.
