Kayak Classes

Join our trained kayak instructors on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at the pool for our weekly kayak roll classes.  Participants will be trained in a variety of introductory whitewater kayaking skills including: equipment introductions, paddling strokes, wet exits, assisted rescues, and the mother of all personal skills… the kayak roll.

Each class is independent from the others. Knowledgeable kayak instructors and kayaking equipment are provided for class participants.  Participants are welcome to bring their own equipment, however, it MUST be thoroughly rinsed prior to entering the pool.

Each class is $5.00 for current VRWC members and $15.00 for non-VRWC members.  Registered participants must remit payment at the front desk of the VRWC upon arrival and will not be allowed into the class without a “Kayak Class Pass”.

Payments of cash, check, or the Vanderbilt Card will be accepted. Please stop by the front desk of the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center to pay and sign in.
