Margie Glick

Margie Glick is the assistant director of federal relations in Vanderbilt’s Office of Federal Relations. In this role, she is responsible for working with members of the Tennessee congressional delegation to advance Vanderbilt University’s federal priorities with respect to federally-sponsored research and higher education policy.

Prior to joining Vanderbilt’s Office of Federal Relations, Margie worked for nearly four years on Capitol Hill for a United States Senator from her home state of Ohio.  She served as a staff assistant, legislative correspondent and legislative assistant.  As a legislative assistant, she advised the Senator on issues related to early childhood, primary, secondary and higher education; low-income housing and other social service programs. Additionally, Margie worked with college and university presidents to develop the agenda and implement an annual Ohio College President’s Conference in Washington, D.C. This conference identified common goals shared by these academic leaders and worked towards developing solutions to common challenges faced by institutions of higher education. Prior to her time on Capitol Hill, she served as a field organizer on the 2008 presidential campaign.

Margie is proud alumna of Vanderbilt University where she earned a degree in Public Policy and Sociology.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Ohio State Society and volunteers with Horton’s kids. Outside of the office, she enjoys playing tennis, running, and traveling.
