Curriculum Vitae

Degrees

  • Dr. rer. nat. (PhD), Eberhard-Karls University Tuebingen (2005)
  • Dipl. Biol. (M.S. in biology), Eberhard-Karls University Tuebingen (2001)

Research Area

  • Visual perception and processing

Current Research

  • I study the integration of physical and constructed information into a complete percept. One example for such integrations is the illusory contour, which is a perceptual edge that does not have a physical counterpart, but is induced by physical, contextual cues. Illusions such as the IC provide tools to probe and understand basic cortical processes.
