Research Area: Clinical Science
My research interests are centered on stress, reactivity, and anxiety in individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, particularly in those with Williams syndrome and autism spectrum disorders. Specifically, I aim to investigate how indicators of reactivity, such as heart rate variability measures like respiratory sinus arrhythmia, are linked with heightened anxiety and abnormal stress responses, and how these variables relate to the unique social features associated with these populations.
