    Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience

Joe's current research interests include examining the interplay between affect and core cognitive functions. He utilizes MRI, human lesion studies, and TMS to better understand these interactions. His doctoral dissertation examines the effect of transient disruption to the ventrolateral PFC on emotion regulation (rTMS study), and the influence of orbitofrontal cortex lesion on long-term, spontaneous regulation of mood and reward-based decision-making (OFC lesion study).
