Professor of Political Sciece Neal Tate has won the Alexander Heard Distinguished Professor Award from Vanderbilt The award recognizes a scholar whose work has and will continue to have wide influence in the solution of contemporary social problems 

The recipient carries the title Alexander Heard Distinguished Service Professor for one year and receives a $2,500 cash award and an engraved silver tray.
