AmericasBarometer Conference to be held in Mexico City 9-22-2007A conference introducing the findings of the 2006 "Barometer of the Americas" surveys of Vanderbilt's Latin American Public Opinioin Program (LAPOP) will be held on September 27, 2007 at the Casa de la Universidad de California en Mexico in Mexico City. The conference is sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), LAPOP, the World Association for Public Opinion Research, the Center for Mexico-United States Studies of the University of California, Dan Diego, Data OPM, and the "Foundation. for This Country." The conference wil introduce participants to the findings of the Barometer of the Americas surveys, which assess citizen values and democratic attitudes in 22 countries covering both contents of the Americas. General sessions will focus on the overall findings of the Barometer surveys; regional sessions will provide detail on the surveys in individual countries that were psurveyed. Presenters will include LAPOP's Director, Vanderbilt Centennial Professor of Political Science, Mitch Seligson, Vanderbilt Ph.D. students who have worked on LAPOP surveyes, and field collaborators who guided the surveys in individual countries.
