Hours of Operation
8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
Service and Information Systems (SIS) is the single point of contact for all Vanderbilt University departments to Plant Operations. They are the first line of communications with customers for maintenance and service requests for campus buildings, grounds, and utilities.
The simplest and fastest way to contact the SIS is to call extension 4-WORK (49675) or 3-WORK (39675) between the hours of 7:45 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Our representatives will create a work order for your request and relay your request to the proper work unit. Calls to any other number slow our response time because all work requests must come through Service and Information Systems to be processed.
A department can request work through SIS in several different ways:
- By phoning 3-WORK (3-9675) and 4-WORK (4-9675)
- By filling out an on-line work request
- By submitting a completed hard-copy Work Request
- In person at Room 103 Bryan Building
- By faxing a Work Request to 343-8742
SIS can only accept work requests for which all relevant information is available; including verification that the person submitting or signing the Work Request is authorized to do so.
SIS receives between 135 calls per day and creates 1,900 work orders a month, so it is very important to follow the methods described above to contact SIS. This will help us to be more responsive to your needs while managing the quality and cost of service delivery.
