Plant Operations Renovation and Small Construction Projects assist the campus community in renovation and construction projects under $500,000. The services include defining the scope of work; ensuring a competitive bid process; codes compliance; removal of hazardous materials (e.g., asbestos); oversight to ensure architectural integrity of building; managing the completion of the work; and following-up with the customer to ensure the work was performed according to their specification.
This work unit is also responsible for preparing quotes for on-campus events that require the use of Academic and Administrative facilities, Athletics facilities, and campus grounds, and require Plant Operations staff to support the events.
A department can request work through R&SC by completing the Request for Estimate form (for renovation projects) or the Event Quote Request available under Requesting Services.
The Construction Inspector focuses primarily on roofing systems and elevators. His services in preparing estimates for this type of work are also available via Requesting Services: Request for Estimate form.
