Overview
The Chilled Water Distribution Technician’s purpose is to provide skilled planning and work to ensure safe, effective, reliable and energy efficient operation of chillers with chilled water distribution and cooling towers with condenser water distribution and, therefore, the learning environment (comfort with energy efficiency) within Vanderbilt University’s buildings. This position is responsible for all chilled and condenser water production and distribution from the Power House and building chiller plants in appropriate temperature range. This includes all chiller and tower maintenance, water treatment, major repairs, commissioning, retro-commissioning, testing and modifications (those not outsourced) of chilled water systems, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, hydronics, airflow, controls and energy efficiency.
