Demo Description

Three plastic square discs are spaced at 17, 34, and 51 cm from a 'point source' on a framework.

Scientific Principles

• Double the distance from a point source of radiation to a given unit of area and the beam spreads over four times the area.

• Triple the distance from a point source to a given unit of area and the beam spreads over nine times the area.
  

Equipment

• A mechanical frame with straight copper wires defines the beam of interest.
