Small Speakers Fed by Generator for Interference of Sound Waves

Demo Description

One hooks the two pictured small speakers in series with the function generator to get sound sources that can create audible interference patterns.

 

Scientific Principles

  • Two small speakers, placed at different locations, and fed by the same audio signal can generate regions of constructive and destructive interference.

  • Equipment lives in Kit (151) on demo (034)-cart in the back hall on left wall.

Instructions


The two speakers and the function generator are shown in the photo. 

They all  live with  the flame tube apparatus demo (034).

(034) is on a dedicated cart along the back hall between the Chemistry prep room wall and the Science Library wall.
