Apparatus demonstrates Boyle's Law for a gas at constant temperature.

Instructions

Photo 2 shows the apparatus with its quick-connect/disconnect tubing and fittings.

This arrangement allows the pressure gauge and closed adjustable syringe to be configured experimentally so that one can easily verify the relation between pressure and volume for a fixed mass of air.

Note that the non-zero value of volume indicated by the scale (for the barrel closed) is determined by the finite volume of the connecting tubes.
