The street in front of our buildings is a MESS while UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Children's Way remains open, but not for parking. Walk or bike to the ORC or park your car in Lot 75A and walk. Lot 75A is across Natchez Trace on the left. However, if you are renting a boat or other big equipment, just try to park nearby, PUT ON YOUR HAZARD LIGHTS, and come in to get a gold colored Temporary Parking Statement to put on your windshield. The ORC will keep its normal hours during construction.

Welcome to the Outdoor Recreation Program at Vanderbilt University. Outdoor Rec offers adventures in the great outdoors for Vanderbilt students, faculty, staff, and the Vanderbilt community. See our list of Upcoming Trips for details.

Nashville is close to gorgeous state parks and natural areas, making it an ideal location for weekend backpacking, spelunking, canoeing, and rafting trips. You can participate in an Outdoor Rec trip, or rent gear from Outdoor Rec to plan your own trip. Our resource library includes maps and guidebooks for local parks so you can plan a trip on your own.

Outdoor Rec is located on Children's Way, just behind the Rob Roy Purdy Intramural Fields by the Student Recreation Center. See our map for detailed directions and for parking information.
