***Important announcement regarding American Heart Association grant applications***
 
Effective with the winter/January 2012 deadlines, each applicant is required to either be an American Heart Association Professional Member or to pay $100 per application submission. This fee was implemented to help defray the administrative cost of processing applications, making more funds available for research awards.  Applicants who opt to pay the $100 application fee, instead of joining one of the memberships listed below, will be required to enter credit card information prior to submitting their application.  Once online payment is made, the AHA system will then allow OSP to approve and submit the application on behalf of the applicant and institution.

The AHA/ASA Professional Membership offers five levels, each of which receive basic benefits plus a corresponding package:

Membership Levels

 
Premium Professional Plus
 
Desire maximum involvement and receive highest level of benefits

$450/year
Premium Professional Desire to be involved at a significant level and receive considerable benefits $250/year
Early Career* Completed training within last four years and M.D.s or Ph.D.s in the four years after their first faculty appointment* $75/year
Student/Trainee* Still in training as an undergraduate, graduate or postdoctoral/clinical fellow* $75/year
General Professional Basic membership $75/year
*Only eligible in this tier for a maximum of four years. Then, membership must be upgraded to the next tier.
