Research Enterprise Newsletter - December 2008: IRB News

IRB makes more DISCOVR-E enhancements

The IRB has made several additional enhancements to DISCOVR-E. The Key Study Personnel table now asks which individuals will have access to PHI. Additional HIPAA related questions have been incorporated into the appropriate sections of the application. So say goodbye to the HIPAA form as it is officially retired! In addition, the IRB is working on click-by-click video tutorials for working in the DISCOVR-E system. We hope to have the videos up on the web site soon.

IRB looking for education session suggestions

With the end of 2008 fast approaching, the IRB is coordinating education sessions and workshops for 2009. Though some 2009 sessions are already filled, we will have more available in the near future. If there are particular areas and/or topics you are interested in, please drop us a line through the "Suggestion Box" available on the IRB web site. Also keep in mind that IRB representatives are available for department/workgroup in-service sessions. You can submit your request through our web site.
