Office of Animal Welfare Assurance announces streamlined process and forms for IACUC approvals

The Office of Animal Welfare Assurance (OAWA) announces a new and greatly simplified process to renew active, animal protocols each year. Simply submit the one-page Annual Renewal form, which can be downloaded from the IACUC web site at www4.vanderbilt.edu/oor/iacuc/vu_forms.php.

OAWA will continue to provide email reminders for all animal protocol annual renewals. Principal Investigators can fax their completed forms to OAWA at 6-8160 or hand-deliver it S-4322, Medical Center North, building 1. "We are very excited to offer this more efficient and streamlined process, which saves time while maintaining our commitment to the highest levels of animal welfare as well as vitally important research," said OAWA Director Dr. Sylvia Gografe.

Contact OAWA at 6-8163 for more information.
