Procurement Team stands ready to assist investigators
The VUMC Research Procurement Team's mission is to help the Research Community with contract negotiations and supplier management. This new OOR e-newsletter section will contain information on new and existing contracts; upcoming research surveys, and other related news.
The Research Procurement team includes:
- Jim McCarthy - Associate Director, Procurement Services (ph: 343-1353)
Thirty-four year veteran with Vanderbilt Procurement Services who has experience with a large portion of the Vanderbilt Research community. In addition to leading the Research Procurement Team, Jim is deeply involved with our eProcurement and online web reporting initiatives. - Michael Jessing - Research Sourcing Officer (ph: 343-4375)
With over 18 years Procurement experience including 13 in Research, Michael is responsible for strategic sourcing programs for Research Lab supplies, Chemicals, Gases and Lab Equipment. His primary tasks include contract negotiations, RFP project management and major supplier performance management. - Tamena Jenkins - Research Purchasing Agent (ph: 343-8203)
Tamena has been with Procurement for 16 years and a Research Purchasing Agent for 10 years. - Sunne McManus - Research Purchasing Agent (ph: 322-1798)
Sunne has been a member of the Procurement team for over two years. She previously worked as a Sales Rep for a research supply vendor, calling on Vanderbilt. Before that, she was a Research Assistant in Vanderbilt's Skin Diseases Research Center. - Andrew Goodman - Research Purchasing Agent (ph: 322-2332)
Andrew has been with Vanderbilt for over 5 years. Before becoming part of the Research Procurement team in June of this year, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Pharmacology Department at Vanderbilt.
How do I know which Purchasing Agent to contact?
To make it easier to get answers or assistance, one Agent is assigned to specific departments to handle all your research related questions. This assignment method will allow the Purchasing Agents to gain a greater depth of understanding of their customers and their needs. Did you know?
- Procurement now has an electronic contract management system for storing and managing contracts. Our VandyConTracs system gives Procurement immediate access to all active contracts and the automatic alert feature notifies both the customer and the Purchasing Agent of expiring contracts so the appropriate actions can be taken before the contract expires.
