Research Enterprise Newsletter - September 2007: Grants & Contracts News

Grants & Contracts Budget Approval has gone electronic

The Office of Grants & Contracts Management (GCM) budget approval has now gone electronic. GCM has developed a new process with the Department of Finance to scan and send electronic copies of approved 1275 budgets. GCM will now require only one (1) copy of the 1275 and the signed budget submission cover form. Once approved by GCM, it will be emailed back to the Department and the Department of Finance, making this a much quicker and efficient process. Another feature GCM has implemented is PEER-a tool for checking the status of most documents received by GCM. With the implementation of PEER, GCM (Janette Sagraves) will no longer email the administrator with status or return courier information. Most faculty are already using the PEER system, which may be accessed at www4.vanderbilt.edu/oor/gcm/portal/.

CDC publishes latest Research Guide

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has published "Advancing the Nation's Health: A Guide to Public Health Research Needs, 2006-2015," referred to as the Research Guide). The Research Guide is a comprehensive public health research compendium developed by CDC scientists and external partners through extensive public engagement. The Research Guide is posted on the CDC web page. Included is an interactive web site that includes capabilities to search and review public comments submitted on the draft Research Guide, as well as HTML and PDF versions of the Research Guide. If you would like a hard copy of the Research Guide, please email Natalie Hundley with your request and current mailing address.
