Research Enterprise Newsletter - August 2009: IRB News

IRB by the Numbers

While some people are enjoying summer vacations, things at the IRB haven't slowed down... in fact, they've picked up. New study submissions have remained consistent for the months of April, May, and June. However, the total number of submissions the IRB has received over the same period has jumped from the high 600s to just over 900! A three month snapshot is always available on our website.

Vanderbilt IRB on the National Research Front

For 2009, Wendy Lloyd has been elected to the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) Board of Directors for a 3-year term. Wendy currently works as a Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Specialist for the IRB. And on a related note, the SoCRA 2009 National Conference will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. Denise Roe (IRB Director), Julie Ozier (IRB Associate Director), Gene Gallagher (IRB Compliance Officer), and Dr. Todd Rice (IRB Medical Director) have each been invited to speak at the event.
