Research Enterprise Newsletter - August 2008: Grants & Contracts News

Salberg to direct Office of Grants & Contracts

Libby D. Salberg, B.A., J.D., has been named the Director of the VUMC Office of Grants and Contracts Management. Libby graduated magna cum laude in Speech Communication from the State University of New York in Buffalo and obtained her law degree at Boston University. She joined Vanderbilt in 2003 as a Contract Specialist and in 2004 was named Associate Director for Grants and Contracts. She has served as interim director and led the 21 staff in the Contracts area and 11 staff in the Grants area since the departure of Melinda Cotton, who recently relocated to M.D. Anderson in Houston, as Director of Grants and Contracts Management (GCM).

PIs can now view GCM contract status information in PEER & StarBRITE

StarBRITE, the VUMC biomedical research integration, translation and education portal, now provides summary-level information about PI clinical research contracts as well as the status of negotiations. StarBRITE also provides linkages to other clinical information such as IRB applications and CRC data. PEER provides more detailed contract information for all GCM contracts, including negotiation status.
