The Office of Animal Welfare Assurance, OAWA, introduces its newest team member, Tammy Jessen, who joined the department January 1, 2009 as Training Coordinator. Jessen will develop and implement all IACUC training programs for animal research faculty and staff. Training will focus on specific surgical and non-surgical experimental procedures and include didactic and hands-on workshops. She also will develop and maintain training manuals, reference libraries, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and training database systems.

Jessen transferred from the Department of Pharmacology, where she served as senior research specialist for Dr. Randy Blakely.
