Center for Structural Biology
The Center for Structural Biology (CSB) is dedicated to enabling and proliferating research with the goal of determining the 3D structure of biological macromolecules at or near atomic resolution. The CSB promotes the use of structural biology approaches in all life science research, collaborating with investigators from a range of departments in both the College of Arts and Science and the School of Medicine. The hallmark of the Vanderbilt CSB is the integrated application of the techniques that provide the atomic resolution structure: X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, computational biology, cryo electron microscopy, and EPR/fluorescence spectroscopies. This strategy is being increasingly recognized as the most appropriate approach to solve fundamental structural problems in medicine and biology.
