Biostatistics Core

The Biostatistics Core consults with investigators on all statistical aspects of research studies, including study design, sample-size analysis, data analysis and interpretation, and manuscript writing. In addition, the Core provides relational database design, data tracking, and all forms, queries, and reports for clinical trials databases or laboratory study databases. Pre-study consultation helps define objectives and endpoints, select an appropriate design, devise a blinding and randomization scheme, compute an adequate sample size, specify the statistical methods, and estimate the time required to accrue the total patient population. When studies are under way, the Core is available to help researchers analyze pilot data and plan interim analyses.
