Susan R. Wente, Ph.D.

(Associate Vice Chancellor for Research; Senior Associate Dean for Biomedical Sciences, School of Medicine)

Dr. Wente’s responsibilities include oversight for operations and strategic development of the basic sciences and graduate education throughout the Medical Center, and in coordination with the University, shared institutes and centers.

Dr. Wente also works to develop and support new translational research programs while directing her own active research program focused on the mechanisms that control the selective, bidirectional exchange of proteins and RNA between the nucleus and the cytoplasm.
