Vanderbilt University Medical Center is ranked 15th and made the Honor Roll of the nation’s best hospitals, as ranked by U.S. News & World Report. In 2008, VUMC made the Top 25 in 11 of 16 adult and pediatric specialties. Rankings were:

• Gynecology – 9
• Kidney Disease – 9
• Urology – 10
• Ear, Nose and Throat – 14
• Cancer – 14
• Pediatric Neonatology – 14
• Endocrinology – 15
• Respiratory Disorders – 18
• Pediatric Neurology – 20
• Pediatrics, General – 23
• Heart & Heart Surgery – 23

The School of Medicine placed 15th among 126 medical schools in U.S. News & World Report‘s “Best Graduate Schools” for 2009.

Researchers from across the U.S. and abroad ranked Vanderbilt the 5th best place in the U.S. to work in science, according to a 2006 survey conducted by The Scientist magazine.
