Advising Resources for Service Organizations
OACS’ primary goal is not only to support students on their ongoing service activities but also to better prepare them to implement, assess and reflect on those. OACS advises over 50 service organizations; these groups work on a variety of issues from mentoring to global health initiatives.
OACS staff provide the following support for service organizations:
- Financial advising (click here)
- Risk management planning for events and programs (click here)
- Travel paperwork assistance (click here)
- Connection to community agencies and volunteer opps (click here)
REQUIREMENTS TO BE ADVISED BY OACS:
- Maintain regular communication with your advisor
- Complete an end-of-semester review and annual review forms
- Update OACS with new leadership rosters at the end of the spring semester
- Send one representative from your organization to the Annual Service Leadership Conference (beginning of fall semester)
Interested in starting your own student service organization?
There are several steps that need to be taken in order to register your organization with the University. Just follow the steps below to get started:
1. Check and make sure that no current service organization exists that meets the need you have identified.
