Carolyn Audet is the Assistant Director at OACS with a focus on global service learning. She has a PhD in Anthropology from Vanderbilt University, with a focus on ancient Maya political organization, and has experience working in Latin American and Africa. For the past two years Carolyn has been directing the Kampala Project, a program focused on HIV/AIDS treatment, education, and advocacy in Kampala, Uganda and is hoping to direct new international programs next summer. She works with student volunteer groups that have a global focus and with individuals who want to intern abroad. Although Carolyn spends the majority of her work life in extremely hot climates... she hails from the greatest cold country, Canada, and is a brutal ice-hockey star here in Nashville. You'll recognize her from the puck-sized bruises on her legs.

Shaiya Baer has been the Assistant Director at OACS since 2005, but he began working at Vanderbilt in 1997. Many moons ago he completed his masters in Education and he swears he can't recall the institution he attended. While working at OACS, his goal is to promote service among students, but most importantly, to understand why we do that service which in the long run engages us in more service. Shaiya has a big family! Wife Charisse, daughter Elana, newborn daughter Izzy (born 8/29) plus 3 dogs, 3 cats, a gerbil and a gecko named Morty who is lonely up in Shaiya's office and hopes you'll come visit him real soon.
