The first roundtable will focus on The Nonprofit Landscape in Middle Tennessee, featuring the leadership of Hands On Nashville, the Center for Nonprofit Management, and The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
What does the network of nonprofit and community support services look like in Nashville? What are its unique qualities and its chief challenges? How does it compare to other cities? How has it grown and changed over the years, and where is it likely to go? What are the factors that are most likely to impact how the landscape will shift in the next 5, 10, 20 years? How do we (as student service leaders) support it and get involved in it? How should one go about deciding where and how to focus his or her energy?
The second Service Leaders Roundtable Series will partner with Project Dialogue to host a Poverty Roundtable. The event will feature Tasha French, founder and director of The Contributor Newspaper, as well as guests from the Vanderbilt Divinity School, Professor James Fraser, and other dynamic voices in the ongoing conversation on poverty. More details to come.
