The VIEW Programming Fee is $4,250 for 2013. Please review the following OACS Financial Aid Application for additional details on costs associated with the VIEW Program.
The VIEW Program is a unique living and learning experience. Students live together in fully furnished corporate housing in Arlington, VA just a block from the Pentagon City Metro Station. The VIEW program coordinator plans weekly seminars and other events to stimulate discussion on the broader issues of politics and service in DC.
The VIEW programming fee covers the cost of housing for two months, weekly events with a group meal, weekly unlimited metro travel, internship development, and staffing throughout the summer.

scholarships available
The opportunity to take part in a respected public service internship in Washington, D.C. is open to all students. We do not want financial concerns to deter a student from applying to the program. In order to eliminate barriers to participation in the VIEW program, partial scholarships are available for students demonstrating need, up to $3,000 of the total $4,250 programming fee. Admission decisions to the VIEW program are made need-blind.
Need is assessed based on the following considerations:
- FASFA application
- Amount of student debt
- Amount of aid received from Vanderbilt
- Level of financial independence, and
- Participation in work-study or part-time jobs.
We work with students individually to ensure their success in the program. The amount of aid varies, but will not exceed $3,000. All VIEW participants will be responsible for a minimum of $1,000 of the program fee as there is a very limited pool of financial assistance available. Financial Aid applications will be made available to the 2013 VIEW cohort during the initial application process.
