OACS Vehicle Loan Program

The Office of Active Citizenship Service is thrilled to announce that two NEW vehicles were added to our service fleet this summer! The OACS vehicles are available FREE of charge to use for service projects within Davidson County. All Vanderbilt students are eligible to drive once they have completed the driver certification or renewal procedures.

To use an OACS vehicle for a service project follow these steps:

  1. Complete driver certification or renewal (procuedres below)
  2. Complete the OACS Vehicle Reservation Form (CLICK HERE). There are only six vehicles available (two minivans and four cars), so make your reservation well in advance.
  3. Pick up your keys on your day of service during the week by 4:30 pm. For a weekend reservation, pick up keys by 4:30 pm on Friday. OACS is closed on weekends.
  4. Remember, Vanderbilt students are not allowed to transport non-Vanderbilt students in OACS vehicles without a signed Waiver from the parent/guardian of minor or the adult you will be transporting. These waivers are available in the OACS office - see your advisor.
  5. In the case of an accident read the Vehicle Accident Reporting Procedure immediately before proceeding. (CLICK HERE)

OACS Driver Authorization

OACS Driver Authorization now Online! 3 easy steps just got easier!

  1. Complete the online Driver Authorization Application (new drivers only)
  2. Previous drivers will need to come by and update application on file at CPH for the new school year. (see Martha L. Dale)
  3. You will receive an email confirming your authorization and providing instructions for you to complete an online training module
  4. After you have completed the online training print off your certificate
  5. Bring your certificate and drivers license to the CPH to view a training video and learn about the Vehicle Loan Procedure
  6. The Vehicle Training Video will be shown
    • In the Community Partnership House
    • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
    • Viewing will start every 30 minutes.
    • September 1, 2009 – April 29, 2010.
