Building Partnerships in the Nashville Community
Dear Community Partners,
The Office of Active Citizenship and Service is one of Vanderbilt's bridges into the community. Here are a few of the ways we connect students to the community and connect the community to students:
- We work with over 50 student service organizations on campus that seek to build sustained relationships with an array of community agencies in Nashville.

- We communicate service opportunities to the Vanderbilt community at large through email listservs, posts on our website Volunteer Bulletin Board, and word of mouth.

- We often have groups of students come to us in search of a community service project and we email the volunteer information to our Community Agency Listserv.

- Our office hosts annual Service Fairs on campus and promotes National Days of Service.
- Email Shaiya Baer for more information
- We co-lead a program called PREP that places students in the community during the spring semester for a weekly commitment service-internship. We are always in search of agencies interested in hosting an intern.
- CLICK HERE to learn about PREP
- CLICK HERE to request a PREP Intern for the Spring 2010
- This past April we advertised summer internship opportunities with Nashville nonprofit agencies and we hope to expand our reach this coming year.
- Information will be emailed to the listserv in early spring
