PREP: Preparing for Leadership & Service in a Diverse Society

PREP engages emerging leaders in small group discussions of relevant issues pertaining to leadership in society, cultural diversity, social justice, civic engagement, and professional development. Following a semester of learning and dialogue, the students embark on a service-internship to put their knowledge into practice while supporting a local nonprofit agency.

VIEW: Vanderbilt Internship Experience in Washington, DC

VIEW provides students with 8-week public service internships with leading agencies and congressional offices in our nation’s capital, and includes a variety of other features:

  • Living-Learning Community - Experience DC with fellow Vanderbilt students
  • Mentor Program - Access to VU Alumni who will give you insight on Washington, various professions, and how to make the most of your experience
  • Supplemental Programming - Dinners, events, forums, guest speakers,& other activities
  • Professional Development & Critical Reflection

Annual Eco-Rolling Seminar

Rolling Seminars: OACS is offering the opportunity to travel to various sites in Appalachia to learn and experience environmental issues through the lens of mountaintop removal.  You’ll meet authors and the actors who deal with current and historical events and issues day in and day out.  Join fellow students, Vanderbilt faculty, and staff in a thought-provoking 2 and 1/2 day journey taking place over fall break.
