Benbow\, vice chair of President Bush&rsquo\;s National Mathematics Advisory Panel\, is available to discuss the panel&rsquo\;s final report\, which was presented to the president and U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings March 13.\n\n\nThe report contains 45 findings and recommendations on numerous topics including instructional practices\, materials\, professional development and assessments. Visit www.ed.gov/MathPanel for the executive summary and full report.\n\n\nThe National Mathematics Advisory Panel was charged by the president and the U.S. Department of Education with examining scientific research in mathematics education and recommending more effective instructional methods to the nation's schools.\n\n\nBenbow is Patricia and Rodes Hart Dean of Education and Human Development at Vanderbilt University&rsquo\;s Peabody College.
