Poet Robin Becker will read from work at Vanderbilt Oct. 1.
Acclaimed poet Robin Becker, poetry editor and contributing editor for The Women’s Review of Books, will give a public reading from her work at Vanderbilt University.
The Nashville community is invited to the free reading 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, in Room 102 of Buttrick Hall on the Vanderbilt campus, near Sarratt Student Center.
“Robin Becker achieves what may be one of the early 21st century’s most difficult accomplishments – to write a credible poetry of affirmation,” said Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Stephen Dunn. “In the doing, she doesn’t pretty up the world. Rather, she finds language that embraces our dualities, our many-selved presences, regularly demonstrating her kind of perfect affection.”
