Associated Press: Gay rights groups launch hospital rating system
Two national gay-rights organizations have introduced the Healthcare Equality Index, which rates hospitals on the rights it accords gay and lesbian patients and families, as well as the diversity and awareness of its staff. Vanderbilt was among the hospitals participating in the survey, and Joel Lee, associate vice chancellor for communications, is quoted. The story has run in many news outlets, including MSNBC, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.
