NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Heather Sellers, an acclaimed memoirist, novelist, writing instructor and poet, will read from her work at Vanderbilt University.
Sellers will read at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, in Room 102 of Buttrick Hall. A reception will follow in the atrium of Buttrick. The reading and reception are free and open to the public.
“The writing of Heather Sellers is luminous, brave and vibrant,” said Lorraine Lopez, assistant professor of English at Vanderbilt. “Her stories and poems are often humorous and sometimes heartbreaking, but always arresting and unforgettable. Also, her books on craft are indispensable to emerging writers.”
Sellers, a professor of English at Hope College, is the author of Face First: A Memoir, which chronicles her experience with face blindness, a little-understood neurological deficit which renders her unable to recognize people by their faces. The upcoming Chapter after Chapter is a sequel to her well-regarded writing primer Page after Page. She is also a frequently anthologized short story writer and poet.
