Dan Sperber's talk on "Rituals and Institutions" is part of the 2008 Templeton Research Lectures exploring "The Causes of Religion."

The Templeton Research Lectures at VanderbiltUniversity are funded by a grant from the Metanexus Institute and hosted at Vanderbilt by the Center for the Study of Religion and Culture.

Dan Sperber, Research Professor at the French Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in Paris, is the 2007-2008 Annual Fellow for the Templeton Research Lectures presented by the Vanderbilt Center for the Study of Religion and Culture Seminar in Religion and Science.
